Review company candidates for stripe.com

Replace <API_KEY> with your authorized platform API key from the dashboard. Make production requests server-side and keep the key out of shared request URLs, screenshots, source control and logs.

The read-only example calls company-by-domain with domain=stripe.com. No company account credential is required. The observed lookup returned four organization candidates, not a unique company; compare website, founders and business context before choosing an ID. Live availability and populated fields are not guaranteed. Opening the page, navigating, expanding panels or copying an example sends no data request.

Base URL https://api.opendata-api.com

curl -X GET 'https://api.opendata-api.com/api/project/crunchbase/company-by-domain?key=<API_KEY>&domain=stripe.com'
Company identifiers, result coverage and missing data
  • A website domain is a discovery input, not a unique company key. The observed stripe.com lookup returned stripe, stripe-capital, stripe-841c and stripe-atlas. Compare each candidate's website, founders and business description before confirming a CRM mapping; do not pick the first row or infer a parent-subsidiary relationship from an ID alone. Domain ownership verification and URL normalization behavior are not established by this example.
  • Store the input domain, candidate company IDs, selected company ID and available UUID separately. Company reads document organization permalinks, UUIDs or organization profile URLs; the supplied live checks verified permalink requests. Funding rounds, acquisitions, IPOs, funds, events, people and curated lists have their own identifier types. Use a returned identifier matching the next endpoint's parameter, not a display name or unrelated entity ID.
  • Use page only where declared and preserve the same filters and sort across requests. Company search documents pages 1–100; founded, last_funding and name sorts are single-page modes. Funding-round announced and amount sorts are also single-page modes, while rank documents deeper paging. The observed funding response counted 24 rounds but returned 15 items. Keep reported totals separate from collected rows; alternative sorts and deeper traversal were not live-verified and do not establish exhaustive coverage.
  • Funding totals, round amounts, valuations and announcement dates can be null even when company and investor identities are populated. Preserve these as unknown, not zero or an inferred date. Round names, funding stages, summary counts and sort choices do not reconstruct missing financial values or certify complete, current funding history.
  • The observed company-name search supported a valid zero-result response with count=0, items=[] and total_pages=0. A deliberately nonexistent company detail request instead returned HTTP 404. Keep empty discovery, unresolved multiple candidates and missing detail records as distinct application outcomes; no no-match response shape was established for domain lookup itself. Inspect HTTP and gateway business status before classifying the payload.
  • Investor search is candidate discovery, not a vetted list of currently active investors. The observed results included null investor type and stage values, and some secondary matches lacked investment counts. Confirm entity identity and review available investment relationships before shortlisting an organization. A name match, historical portfolio or investment count does not establish current mandate, activity or suitability.

Review business status and company identity

Check HTTP status separately from the gateway's code, message and data business result. Gateway code 200 indicates business success; HTTP 200 alone does not establish a usable company match. Inspect the operation payload inside data: domain lookup returns candidate items, company details returns a flat company object and searches can validly return an empty items array. Keep failures, empty searches and unresolved identities separate.

Choose a company or investment research task
Resolve domains and identify companies

company-by-domain requires a website domain or URL and can return several organizations. search-companies has optional name-prefix, industry, location and funding filters. Use company-details only with an identified company: a documented organization permalink, UUID or profile URL, not a bare website domain. Keep the input domain and selected company identity separate.

Research financing and investment relationships

Company funding and investor reads require the funded company's ID. company-investments instead requires the investor organization's ID; search-investments requires the recipient company's ID. Funding-round and fund details need their own record IDs. Investor, funding-round and fund searches offer optional filters. Review round relationships without treating null amounts, dates or investor attributes as complete financial evidence.

Find acquisitions and public-listing records

company-acquisitions requires a company identifier. acquisition-details requires an acquisition record ID, while ipo-details requires an IPO record ID rather than a company name or ticker. Start with the relevant filtered search when the deal identifier is unknown; acquisition and IPO search filters are optional. Available transaction fields are not a complete deal register.

Add organizational and operating context

These reads require a confirmed company identifier for offices, associated people, similar companies, subsidiaries, technology, growth signals, news signals or timeline entries. company-people selects people associated with a company, not an individual person's profile. Use documented role, type and page controls where offered; relationships and signals are research context, not ownership or identity certification.

Research professional roles and public activity

search-people accepts optional name, company, title, location and other supported filters. Jobs, investments, event appearances and news for one person require that person's identifier, not a company ID or an unreviewed name match. Review affiliations and the endpoint's role or page controls without assuming current employment or verified contact information.

Connect companies and people to events

search-events offers optional name, location, date and event-type filters. Event details and participants require an event identifier. company-events requires a company identifier, while event-appearances requires a company or person identifier in entity. Apply supported participant roles where needed; an appearance is not proof of future attendance.

Gather company coverage and press context

company-news requires a company identifier. Latest Crunchbase news has no required data selector; news search and press search provide optional query and page inputs, with entity and date filters available for press. Preserve source links and retrieval dates in your application rather than assuming exhaustive history or a real-time news feed.

Resolve reference identifiers and curated lists

Autocomplete, industry lookup and location lookup require query text. Review entity types and identifiers before reusing them in supported filters. company-lists requires a company identifier, and list-details requires the curated list's hub identifier. List and school searches accept optional filters; a list or school ID is not a company ID.

Acquisitions

GET /api/project/crunchbase/acquisition-details

Look up a Crunchbase acquisition and its deal context

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve a single acquisition using the required acquisition query parameter. Supply a Crunchbase acquisition permalink, UUID or acquisition page URL; this identifies the deal, not the buyer or acquired company's organization profile. The documented response example is a flat deal object with id, uuid, name and link; acquirer and acquiree objects each contain id, uuid, name, type, image and link. Company context appears in acquirer_categories and acquiree_categories, the corresponding funding_total, location and short_description fields, and acquiree_last_funding_type. Category entries contain id and name; location objects contain city, region, country, continent, groups and ids. Deal fields include acquisition_type, status, announced_on, completed_on, price, terms, rank and short_description. The example also contains articles_count and a press array whose entries include id, title, link, publisher, date, author, type and related entities with id, uuid, name, type and link. No live probe is recorded for this endpoint, so these are unverified documented example fields, not a confirmed response schema. In that example, price, both funding totals, both deal dates, terms and the deal short_description are null; a press author can also be null. Do not infer a sale price or closing date from missing data, or treat linked coverage alone as proof that a deal completed.

Search Crunchbase acquisitions by buyer, target and deal filters

Full docs β†’
Details

Search acquisition records with optional query filters for acquirer, acquiree, the target's last funding type, acquisition type, target industry and target location. Acquirer and acquiree accept an organization permalink, UUID or Crunchbase organization URL; category and location accept a permalink, UUID or name. announced_after and announced_before define an inclusive announcement-date window, while completed_after is an inclusive lower bound on the closing date, all in YYYY-MM-DD format. min_price and max_price are nonnegative integer USD amounts. The documented page range is 1-100 with default 1; sort defaults to announced. Only rank is documented to support deeper pagination: announced and price each return one page. The visible portion of the documented response example contains count, current_page and an items array. Visible item fields include id, uuid, name, link, rank, acquisition_type, status, announced_on, completed_on, price, terms and short_description; acquirer and acquiree contain id, uuid, name, type, image and link. The example also shows buyer and target categories with id and name, funding totals, location objects with city, region, country, continent, groups and ids, and acquiree_last_funding_type. No live probe is recorded for this endpoint, and the supplied source example is truncated, so this is an unverified partial field inventory, not a complete response schema or a verified definition of count. Financial amounts and deal dates are null in the visible example, as are several other deal attributes. Do not interpret missing prices as zero or treat a price-filtered result set as every acquisition in the market.

Discovery

GET /api/project/crunchbase/autocomplete

Find named Crunchbase entity candidates and their identifiers

Full docs β†’
Details

Look up a name with the required query string to obtain candidate Crunchbase entities and identifiers for subsequent research. The optional type string defaults to all and can narrow the lookup to company, investor, school, person, funding_round, acquisition, ipo, fund, event, hub, category, category_group, location, city, region, country or product. The optional integer limit defaults to 10 and accepts 1-25; it caps the number of returned results, not a documented page size for a paginated export. The documented response example contains items, query, type and total_count. Each example item contains id, uuid, name, type, link, image, short_description, facets and the boolean is_investor. No live probe is recorded for this endpoint, so these are unverified example fields rather than a confirmed live schema, and the meaning of total_count relative to limit is not independently verified. Use item identity and type to let a user select a candidate; a similar name is not proof of a unique match, and the suggestion data is not a substitute for a complete entity profile. The type request value is a search constraint, while each item's type describes the returned candidate; is_investor is an example response field, not an additional request filter.

Industry Discovery

GET /api/project/crunchbase/search-industries

Search Industry Categories and Groups

Full docs β†’
Details

Look up Crunchbase industries and industry groups by name to obtain identifiers for sector-based research. The required query is an industry name, such as fintech or artificial intelligence. The optional limit controls the maximum result count, accepts 1 through 25 and defaults to 15. The documented response example contains query, total_count and an items array. Each illustrated item has id, uuid, name, type, link, image, short_description, categories and groups. The type distinguishes a category from a category_group; the example includes both kinds, including separate Financial Services category and group entries. Preserve the returned identifier and type together rather than treating similarly named entries as interchangeable. short_description, categories and groups can be null. These response fields come from a documented example, not a verified live response for this endpoint. The example shows total_count of 15 but only three illustrated items, so do not assume total_count equals the length of the supplied items array. Matching rules, ordering and complete sector coverage are not verified.

Company Research

GET /api/project/crunchbase/company-acquisitions

List Companies Acquired by a Company

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve acquisition records for companies acquired by a selected organization. The required company accepts a Crunchbase permalink, UUID or organization URL. The optional page accepts 1 through 100 and defaults to 1. The optional sort accepts announced, price or rank and defaults to announced. The documented behavior limits announced and price sorting to one page; rank is the choice for deeper pagination. No fixed page size or complete historical coverage is established. The documented response excerpt shows company, acquisitions_count, acquired_by, count, current_page and items. The company object contains id, uuid, name, type, link and image. Each illustrated acquisition record contains acquiree and acquirer identity objects with those same identity fields, plus acquiree_categories and acquirer_categories as lists of id/name pairs. acquiree_location and acquirer_location contain city, continent, country, region, groups and ids. Other illustrated fields are acquiree_funding_total, acquiree_last_funding_type, acquirer_funding_total, acquisition_type, announced_on, completed_on, id, uuid, link, name, price, rank, short_description, status and terms. This field inventory comes from an unverified, truncated source example; there is no live probe for this endpoint in the supplied evidence. Funding totals, acquisition_type, announcement and completion dates, price, short_description, status and terms are null in the illustrated record, and acquired_by is null in the response excerpt. Null amounts or dates are unknown, not zero or evidence that no transaction occurred. The semantics and relationship of count and acquisitions_count are not independently verified; retain the reported values without treating them as a completeness guarantee.

Find Similar Companies and Competitor Candidates

Full docs β†’
Details

Find organizations described as similar to a selected Crunchbase company. The required company query parameter accepts a Crunchbase permalink such as openai, an organization UUID, or a full Crunchbase organization URL. Only this company selector is documented; the route does not define similarity-threshold, location-filter or pagination parameters. The available response evidence is an unverified documented example, not an observed live response. It contains company with id, image, link, name, type and uuid; similar_companies with nested company identity records, numeric score, contacts_count, location, micro_categories and reasons; and ranks_by_category with category, category_id, companies_in_category and rank. The location object includes city, continent, country, region, groups and ids. Category can be null. The competitors and similar_by_products arrays are empty in the example, so their nonempty item structures are not established. Use score, reasons and micro_categories as research signals rather than proof of direct competition or corporate affiliation. No score scale, scoring method, result-completeness guarantee or freshness interval is documented. contacts_count is a count field, not a list of contact details. Empty arrays and missing category labels should remain distinguishable from confirmed absence.

Look Up Company Subsidiaries and Ownership Context

Full docs β†’
Details

Look up reported subsidiaries and corporate relationship context for a selected Crunchbase organization. The required company query parameter accepts a Crunchbase permalink such as stripe, an organization UUID, or a full Crunchbase organization URL. No ownership-percentage, relationship-depth or pagination parameter is documented. The endpoint description covers subsidiaries, divisions and acquiring-company context; it is not a complete legal-ownership register. The available response evidence is an unverified documented example rather than an observed live response. Its top-level fields are company, subsidiaries, subsidiaries_count, parent and acquired_by. The company object includes id, image, link, name, type and uuid. Each illustrated subsidiaries entry has its own id, an ownership_type label and a nested company identity object with the same identity fields. All illustrated ownership_type values are subsidiary, so a division-specific record format is not demonstrated. Both parent and acquired_by are null in the example. Their populated structures, ownership percentages and effective dates are not established by this evidence. Treat subsidiaries_count as a reported count, not proof of exhaustive coverage. Preserve null relationship fields and confirm significant ownership or acquisition conclusions independently before merging accounts or drawing legal conclusions.

Research Company Technology, Apps and Buyer Signals

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve documented technology and business-research sections for a selected Crunchbase company. The required company query parameter accepts a Crunchbase permalink such as openai, an organization UUID, or a full Crunchbase organization URL. No date-range, technology-filter or pagination parameter is documented. The endpoint description covers technology tools, apps, web traffic, intellectual property, IT spend and buyer-intent topics where available. The available response evidence is an unverified documented example, not an observed live response. Its company object contains id, image, link, name, type and uuid. technologies entries contain name, categories and companies_using, with technologies_count reported separately. products entries contain name and description, alongside products_count. products_used entries contain name, image, status and customers_count. apps entries contain name, image, stores and downloads_monthly; related top-level fields are apps_count, app_downloads_monthly and app_downloads_change_monthly. Both app_downloads_change_monthly and some per-app downloads_monthly values are null in the example. The documented web_traffic object includes visits_monthly, visits_change_monthly and updated_on. intellectual_property includes patents_count, trademarks_count, top_patent_category and top_trademark_class; top_patent_category is null in the example. it_spend contains amount, amount_usd and currency. buyer_intent contains updated_on and topics entries with topic, category, surge_score and weeks_surging. Some products_used customers_count values are also null. These sections are research signals, not a verified installed-software inventory or evidence of an active purchase. The evidence does not establish measurement methodology, change-value units, spend period, score scale or refresh guarantees. Preserve missing values rather than substituting zero, inspect section dates when returned, and do not interpret companies_using or customers_count as the target company's customer total.

Retrieve a company's activity timeline as a paginated collection of press mentions. The required company parameter accepts a Crunchbase organization permalink, UUID or organization profile URL. The optional page parameter defaults to 1 and supports pages 1 through 100. The documentation specifies 10 entries per page. The supplied, unverified response example contains a company object with id, name, type, uuid, link and image; an items array; and count, current_page, per_page, total_pages, next and previous pagination fields. Article items contain id, title, type, link, author, publisher, date and entities. Each related entity in the example has id, name, type, uuid and link. The example includes a null previous-page value. These are source-example fields, not observed live-probe fields: no live probe is recorded for this operation, so their presence, completeness and current behavior have not been independently confirmed. Use article dates to organize media references, not as independently verified dates for funding rounds, acquisitions or other corporate milestones. Company Resolution

GET /api/project/crunchbase/company-by-domain

Find Company Candidates by Website Domain

Full docs β†’
Details

Resolve a website domain or company website URL into candidate Crunchbase organizations. The required domain string accepts a value such as stripe.com or a website URL. This is a candidate lookup, not a guaranteed one-domain-to-one-company mapping; no pagination or result-limit parameter is documented. An observed successful probe for stripe.com returned an object with domain, total_count of 4 and an items array containing stripe, stripe-capital, stripe-841c and stripe-atlas. The probe metadata confirms that the primary Stripe record had the expected UUID, website, founders and business description. It does not establish that the first item is always the correct match or that every domain will resolve. Separately, the truncated documented response example illustrates item identity fields id, uuid, name, link, image, website, aliases and short_description; categories and category_groups as id/name lists; and location with city, continent, country, region, groups and ids. Founders are illustrated with id, uuid, name, type and link, while investors is also present. Other illustrated fields cover employee_count; acquirer; operating_status and ipo_status; founded_on, closed_on, delisted_on and went_public_on; funding_stage, funding_total, equity_funding_total, last_funding_at and last_funding_type; investor_stage and investor_type; contacts_count, investments_count, exits_count and diversity_spotlight_investments_count; growth_score, heat_score, rank, rank_company and rank_delta_90d; and revenue_range, stock_exchange and stock_symbol. This extended field inventory is source-example evidence, not a field-by-field live guarantee. Financial totals, dates and several status or investor fields are null in the illustrated record. Compare candidate identity, description, website and relationships before confirming a CRM mapping. Store the input domain, candidate identifiers and confirmed organization separately. Missing financial data is unknown rather than zero, and this endpoint does not promise domain ownership verification, exhaustive coverage or current financial figures.

Companies

GET /api/project/crunchbase/company-details

Get a detailed Crunchbase company profile

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve one company profile using the required company query parameter. The documented input forms are a Crunchbase organization permalink, UUID or full crunchbase.com/organization/ URL; a bare website domain is not a documented identifier for this operation. The observed successful Stripe lookup returned a flat company object, not an items array or a nested company envelope. Profile fields included id, uuid, name, legal_name, aliases, link, image, short_description, description, website, email, phone, operating_status, company_type, ipo_status, employee_count, categories and category_groups. The founders array contained person identities, while social held network links and location held city, region, country, continent, groups and ids. Contact fields may be present but usable contact coverage is not guaranteed. Observed research sections included rank with category rankings; funding with round and investor counts, last-round type and nullable totals; investing with investment and portfolio counts; people with employee, advisor and contact counts; growth with growth and heat scores; and technology with technology, product, app, traffic, patent and trademark statistics plus an it_spend object. Other observed fields included founded_on, closed_on, revenue_range, hub_tags, hubs, acquisition and subsidiary counts, acquired_by, ipo, signals_count, articles_count and products. These are available profile attributes, not a guarantee that every company has every value. The live profile contained null dates and financial values, including funding totals and valuation. Preserve null as unknown rather than zero and do not infer a complete financial history or real-time freshness. A separate deliberately nonexistent permalink returned HTTP 404 with an error message identifying the requested company as not found. Only permalink lookups were verified in the supplied live evidence; UUID and URL input forms are documented rather than individually tested here.

Retrieve recorded event participation for the company identified by the required company query parameter. Documented identifier forms are a Crunchbase organization permalink, company UUID or full crunchbase.com/organization/ URL. The optional page parameter defaults to 1 and accepts integers from 1 through 100. Omit role for an unfiltered request, or choose one documented role: sponsor, speaker, exhibitor, contestant or organizer. The supplied source example describes a paginated object with company, count, current_page, items, next, per_page, previous and total_pages. The company object contains id and uuid. Each example item has id, event, participant, role, event_starts_on, event_location and short_description. The event object contains id, uuid, name, type and link; participant contains the participating organization identity, including id, uuid, name, type, link and image. The example includes null event_location and short_description values, so a record may not have venue details or descriptive text. This operation has no supplied live probe. The response structure, participation records and pagination fields are from an unverified source example, not an observed successful response. Treat these as recorded participation relationships rather than a comprehensive event calendar, proof of current attendance or a commitment to attend a future event. Get company funding rounds and investor relationships

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve funding-round records and a funding summary for the company identified by the required company query parameter. Documented identifier forms are a Crunchbase organization permalink, UUID or full crunchbase.com/organization/ URL. The optional page parameter accepts integers from 1 through 100 and defaults to 1. The optional sort parameter accepts announced, amount or rank and defaults to announced. The documented sorting constraint is important: announced and amount return one page; rank supports deeper paging. More pages do not establish complete financial coverage. The observed Stripe response was an object containing company, count, per_page, current_page, total_pages, next, previous, items and summary. Company identities included id, uuid, name, type, link and image. Round items included id, uuid, name, link, company, round_type, investors_count, lead_investors, investors and rank, along with nullable financial and date fields. Lead-investor identity references included id, uuid, name, type and link. The retrieved records included Series I, H, G and secondary-market rounds. An investor count should not be assumed to equal the number of populated investor identity references in an item. Observed summary fields were total, equity_total, stage, rounds_count, last_round_type, last_round_at, investors_count and lead_investors_count. The Stripe response reported count=24 and summary.rounds_count=24 but returned only 15 items, with current_page=1, total_pages=1 and next=null under the default announced sort. Display reported totals separately from the actual rows fetched; this observed page is partial, not a complete funding history. Every observed round had null amount, target_amount, pre_money_valuation, post_money_valuation, announced_on and closed_on. Other observed item fields included is_equity, company_funding_total, company_diversity_spotlights and short_description, which were null in the inspected example item. Summary financial totals, stage and last-round date were also null. Preserve missing values as unknown; do not infer monetary totals, valuations, dates or a chronological history from round names or sort selection. The sort alternatives and deeper rank paging are documented behaviors, not separately verified by the supplied default-sort probe.

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve growth and heat signals for one Crunchbase company with GET /companies/growth. The required company query parameter accepts an organization permalink, UUID or Crunchbase organization URL; openai is the supplied example. The documented response example is a flat object with company identity fields id, image, link, name, type and uuid; growth_score and heat_score; growth_score_delta_90d and heat_score_delta_90d; growth_score_history and heat_score_history; and growth_trend_365d and heat_trend_365d. The example history and trend values are numeric arrays, without individual timestamps or a documented sampling cadence. growth_insight contains customers, finance, generated_on and press, whose articles have author, id, link, posted_on, publisher and title. investor_insight contains generated_on, categories with id and name, locations, and portfolio_status_counts such as ipo and operating. predictions contains generated_on, type, probability, tier, media_sentiment, unicorn_status and timeline probabilities named months_00_to_05, months_06_to_11, months_12_to_24 and months_24_plus. The documented purpose includes funding, IPO and acquisition predictions; these are model-derived research signals, not confirmed transactions or investment advice. rank contains company, overall and delta_90d. No live probe result was supplied for this operation: these field names come from an unverified documentation example, not an observed response. Some example fields, including finance, article author, tier and media_sentiment, are null. Find the curated Crunchbase lists a company belongs to

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve curated list and hub memberships for one company with GET /companies/hubs. The required company query parameter accepts a Crunchbase organization permalink, UUID or full Crunchbase organization URL; stripe is the supplied default example. This looks up a known company's memberships rather than searching all companies or listing all members of a hub. The documented response example contains company with id, image, link, name, type and uuid; hub_tags as an array of strings; hubs as an array of objects with id, link and name; and related_lists as an array. related_lists is empty in that example, so its item structure is not established. The documented purpose includes memberships in curated collections such as unicorn lists or a venture firm's portfolio. Returned hub identifiers can support a separate list-details lookup; this operation does not itself return a hub's full company roster. No live probe result was supplied for this operation. All described response fields come from an unverified documentation example, not an observed response. List coverage, update timing and the meaning of individual memberships are not guaranteed; inclusion alone does not certify a current valuation or an active investment relationship.

Explore a company or venture firm's investment portfolio

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve portfolio information for an investment firm or corporate investor with GET /companies/investments. The required company query parameter accepts a Crunchbase organization permalink, UUID or full Crunchbase organization URL; sequoia-capital is the supplied example. The optional integer page parameter accepts values from 1 to 100 and has a documented default of 1. The endpoint is documented as returning 10 records per page; no adjustable page-size parameter is supplied. The documented purpose covers investments, lead-investor indicators, exits and funds, describing investments made by the selected organization rather than funding it received. The supplied response example is truncated and cannot be parsed as complete JSON. Its visible prefix includes company with id, image, link, name, type and uuid; count and current_page; diversity_spotlight_investments; and exits. Visible diversity_spotlight_investments entries contain id, name, amount_invested, announced_on, company, diversity_spotlights, funding_round, investor, is_lead_investor, partners, round_amount and round_type. Nested company identities include id, image, link, name, type and uuid; funding_round identities include id, link, name, type and uuid. The visible exits entries identify organizations with fields including id, image, link, name, short_description, type and uuid. The truncated example does not establish the complete response, any later investment or fund sections, their field structures, the precise meaning of count, or how pagination applies to each nested section. No live probe result was supplied for this operation; visible fields are unverified documentation evidence, not observed response guarantees. Amounts, dates, investor, lead status and round details are null in visible investment records. Historical portfolio records do not establish current holdings, ownership percentages or complete investment coverage.

List a company's investors and funding-round relationships

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve documented investor relationships for a company identified by a Crunchbase permalink, UUID or organization URL. The optional page parameter defaults to 1 and accepts integers from 1 to 100; results are documented as 10 items per page. Use this endpoint for backer-and-round research, not as proof that an investor is currently deploying capital. The documented response example has not been confirmed by an endpoint-specific live probe. Its top-level company object contains id, uuid, name, type, link and image. Pagination fields are count, current_page, per_page, total_pages, next and previous; investors_count and lead_investors_count provide additional reported counts. The items array represents investor relationships with id, name, investor, funding_round, is_lead_investor and partners. Investor objects contain id, uuid, name, type, link and image; funding_round and partner objects contain id, uuid, name, type and link. Preserve the round relationship when comparing backers rather than assuming each row is a distinct investor. In the documented example, is_lead_investor can be null, and amount_invested, announced_on, company, diversity_spotlights, round_amount and round_type are null on the supplied relationship records. These fields must not be treated as populated financial or date data. Partner information is an array and should be used only where supplied. Counts, coverage and field availability are not independently verified for this endpoint.

Get company news titles, publishers and publication dates

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve news references for a company identified by a Crunchbase permalink, UUID or organization URL. Articles are documented as newest first. The optional page parameter defaults to 1 and accepts integers from 1 to 100. This is a company-specific article-reference lookup, not a verified real-time or exhaustive news feed. No endpoint-specific live probe is available. The unverified documented response example contains company with id and uuid, an items array, and pagination fields count, current_page, per_page, total_pages, next and previous. Article records contain id, title, publisher, author, posted_on, link, thumbnail and entities. Use posted_on as the supplied publication-date field, and preserve publisher and author attribution where available. In the supplied example, author can be null, link and thumbnail are null, and entities arrays are empty. No populated entities structure is demonstrated, and no full article text is shown. A title or article id therefore does not guarantee a usable outbound link, image, author or article body. Newest-first ordering is documented rather than independently observed; preserve retrieval time in monitoring workflows and verify important stories before acting on them.

Get company headquarters and reported office-opening stories

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve a company's reported headquarters and office-opening records using a required Crunchbase permalink, UUID or organization URL in company. No page parameter is documented for this endpoint. The results support footprint and expansion research, not a complete directory of currently operating office addresses. No endpoint-specific live probe is available. The unverified documented response example has three top-level fields: company, headquarters and offices. The company object contains id, uuid, name, type, link and image. The headquarters object contains city, region, country, continent, groups and ids; groups is empty in the example, so no populated group-item structure is established. The offices array contains id, opened_on, opening_description, opening_press, city, region, country, street, postal_code, location and is_headquarters. The opening_press object provides the associated press-story fields id, title, publisher, author, posted_on and link. Keep the reported opening date opened_on separate from the press publication date posted_on. In all supplied office examples, city, region, country, street, postal_code, location and is_headquarters are null; opening_press.author is also null. Do not infer office addresses or headquarters status from an opening story when those structured fields are missing. A separate headquarters summary does not establish that an office-opening record is the headquarters or that a location remains open today. Coverage and present-day operating status are not independently verified.

List company employees, advisors, board members or alumni

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve a role-filtered people roster for one company. The required company parameter accepts a Crunchbase organization permalink, UUID or organization profile URL. Choose employees, advisors, board or alumni with role; employees is the documented default. The optional page parameter defaults to 1 and accepts pages 1-100. The documented page size is 10. Documented response, not live-verified: the supplied example contains company, founders, role, employees_count, advisors_count, contacts_count, count, current_page, per_page, total_pages, next, previous and items. The company object and each founders entry contain id, uuid, name, type, link and image. Each items entry represents a person-role association with id, person, title, company, job_type, is_current, started_on, started_on_precision, ended_on, ended_on_precision and featured_order. The nested person object contains id, uuid, name, type, link and image. In the example, title and person identifiers are populated, but company, job_type, is_current, employment dates, date precision and featured_order are null. Do not infer current employment or exact tenure from those null fields. No successful live probe was supplied for this endpoint, so the example field layout and pagination behavior remain unverified. Treat the roster as available listed profiles, not a complete employee directory; contacts_count is a count, not verified email or telephone contact data.

Search companies by name, sector, funding and business signals

Full docs β†’
Details

Discover companies with optional query-string filters. query is a company-name prefix, while description filters text contained in the company description. Use category, category_group and location for sector and geography; company_type, operating_status and ipo_status for business status; employee_count for one or more comma-separated headcount bands; and founded_after, founded_before or closed_after for date boundaries. Founder, investor, funding-stage, latest-round, investor-focus, stock-exchange, hub-tag, funding-total, activity-count and Growth Score or Heat Score filters further narrow the search. Date inputs use YYYY-MM-DD; total-funding bounds are in USD. Every parameter is optional. page defaults to 1 and accepts integers 1-100. sort defaults to rank. The documentation states that founded, last_funding and name sorting return one page; rank, score and count sorts support deeper paging. The successful live probe for query=stripe and page=1 returned HTTP 200 with count=82, current_page=1, per_page=15, total_pages=6, sort=rank and 15 items. The observed envelope also contains next and previous navigation references. A deliberately nonexistent name returned HTTP 200 with count=0, items=[], total_pages=0 and next=previous=null. Treat that as a valid no-match result, not a missing-company error or a reason to repeat unchanged requests. Observed company items contain id, uuid, name, link, image, short_description, website and aliases; founded_on, closed_on, operating_status, ipo_status, employee_count and revenue_range; categories and category_groups containing id/name entries; and a nullable location object with city, region, country, continent, ids and groups. Ranking and activity fields include rank, rank_company, rank_delta_90d, growth_score, heat_score, contacts_count, exits_count, investments_count and diversity_spotlight_investments_count. Funding fields include funding_total, equity_funding_total, funding_stage, last_funding_type and last_funding_at. Relationship fields include investors, founders and acquirer; observed founder entries expose id, uuid, name, type and link, while an observed acquirer object also includes image. Other observed fields are investor_type, investor_stage, went_public_on, delisted_on, stock_exchange and stock_symbol. Empty investors arrays in this probe do not establish a populated investor-entry schema. Funding amounts and several company, market and date fields were null in the live result; aliases, location and acquirer can also be null. Preserve unknown values rather than converting them to zero or an inferred business status. Only the name-prefix search and no-match behavior were live-probed here. The other filters, allowed values and sort restrictions are documented capabilities, not individually verified filter outcomes; returned counts are not a guarantee of complete market coverage.

Retrieve company news signals with available source references

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve reported business-event signals for one company. The required company parameter accepts a Crunchbase organization permalink, UUID or organization profile URL. Optionally select one type: layoffs, key_employee_changes, product_launches, partnerships, legal_proceedings or awards. Omit type to request all kinds of signals, newest first according to the documentation. Key employee changes cover reported hires and exits. There is no page or date-range parameter in this endpoint contract. Documented response, not live-verified: the supplied example contains company, counts, type and items. company contains id, uuid, name, type, link and image. The counts object has awards, key_employee_changes, layoffs, legal_proceedings, partnerships and product_launches fields. Each items entry contains id, type, date, title, description, employees_laid_off and press. Each press entry contains id, title, link, publisher, posted_on and author, providing available reporting references for the event. In the supplied example, event title, description and employees_laid_off are null, and press author is null even when the source title, publisher, link and posted_on are present. No successful live probe was supplied for this endpoint; the documented field layout, ordering and filtering have not been confirmed by a live response. Treat a signal as a reported event to review using its source references, not independently verified operational, legal or employment evidence. Do not interpret a null layoff count as zero or assume every event has a populated title, a full description or a complete source list. Coverage completeness, continuous monitoring and real-time delivery are not established by this evidence.

Event Research

GET /api/project/crunchbase/event-appearances

List a company or person's event appearances by role

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve event appearance records for one company or person. The required entity parameter accepts a Crunchbase permalink, UUID, organization profile URL or person profile URL. The optional page parameter defaults to 1 and supports pages 1 through 100. The optional role parameter restricts results to sponsor, speaker, exhibitor, contestant or organizer; omit it when no role restriction is needed. The supplied, unverified response example contains entity with id, type and uuid; a top-level role value; an items array; and count, current_page, per_page, total_pages, next and previous pagination fields. Each appearance item contains id, role, short_description, event_starts_on, event_location, event and participant. The event reference contains id, name, type, uuid and link. The participant reference contains id, name, type, uuid, link and image. The example includes null event_location, role-filter and previous-page values. These source-example fields have not been confirmed by a live probe for this operation. Do not assume that location, participant details or any other field will be complete for every record. Use the results as reported participation records, not proof of actual attendance, a current schedule or a complete conference history. An overlapping event listing for two entities does not establish that they met or have a personal or commercial relationship.

Retrieve an event's dates, profile and participant sections

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve the profile of one event using the required event parameter: a Crunchbase event permalink, UUID or event profile URL. This lookup has no pagination or role-filter parameter. It is documented to cover dates, location, categories, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and press. The supplied, unverified response example is a single event object. Identity and profile fields include id, uuid, name, link, image, short_description, description, event_type, rank, website and registration_link. Scheduling and place fields are starts_on, ends_on, location and venue. Categories are represented by categories entries with id and name, plus category_groups. Participation sections include speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, organizers and contestants, with a participants_count object containing speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and contestants fields. Speaker and contestant entries in the example contain id, event, participant, role, event_starts_on, event_location and short_description; many of those values are null. The example's sponsors, exhibitors, organizers, category_groups and press arrays are empty, so it does not establish the entry schemas for those collections. Image, long description, location, venue, website, rank and some participant counts are also null. A registration_link is present in the example but does not establish that registration is currently open. No live probe is recorded for this operation: all response-field details above come from the source example, not observed live behavior. Handle nulls and empty collections explicitly, and verify dates and registration availability independently before making travel or attendance decisions.

Retrieve the speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, contestants and organizers associated with a Crunchbase event. The required event parameter accepts an event permalink, UUID or crunchbase.com/event/ URL. The optional page parameter selects a page from 1 through 100 and defaults to 1. The optional role parameter restricts the results to sponsor, speaker, exhibitor, contestant or organizer; omit it to leave the role filter unset. The documentation example, which has not been independently verified for this endpoint, contains count, current_page, per_page, total_pages, next, previous, role, event and items. The top-level event object contains id and uuid. Each items entry includes id, role, event_starts_on, event_location, short_description, an event object and a participant object. The nested event object contains id, uuid, name, type and link; the participant object contains id, uuid, name, type, link and image. Example participants include both people and organizations. event_location, short_description, next, previous and the top-level role can be null. No parameter is required. The unverified documentation response example contains count, current_page, per_page, total_pages, next, previous, sort and items. Each event item includes id, uuid, name, link, image, short_description, rank, starts_on, ends_on, categories, category_groups and location. Category and category-group entries contain id and name. Funding

Look up a funding round and its investor relationships

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve a selected Crunchbase funding round to research its funded company, round context and reported investor relationships. The required funding_round string accepts a funding-round permalink, UUID or crunchbase.com/funding_round/ URL. It identifies one round rather than a company or a free-text deal search. There are no additional documented input parameters for this endpoint. No response was observed for this endpoint in the supplied evidence. Its documentation example is truncated and cannot be parsed as a complete JSON response. The complete fields visible before that truncation include id, name, link, company, company_diversity_spotlights, company_funding_total, amount, announced_on, closed_on, articles_count, investments, investors, investors_count, is_equity, lead_investors, post_money_valuation and pre_money_valuation. company contains id, uuid, name, type, link and image. Each visible investments entry contains id, name, investor, partners, is_lead_investor, amount_invested, announced_on, company, diversity_spotlights, funding_round, round_amount and round_type. Its investor object contains id, uuid, name, type, link and image; partner and lead-investor entries contain id, uuid, name, type and link. A press field begins in the example, but its content is incomplete. These are unverified example fields, not a complete or guaranteed response schema. The visible example has null amounts, announcement and closing dates, valuations, company funding total and equity status. Its investment-level round_type and lead-investor flag are also null. investors is empty despite a populated investors_count and separate investment records. Do not interpret null as zero, infer investor-list completeness from the count, or assume that this lookup fills missing financial or date fields from other research.

Funding Rounds

GET /api/project/crunchbase/search-funding-rounds

Search Crunchbase Funding Rounds

Full docs β†’
Details

Search company financing rounds using optional company, investor, lead_investor, category and location filters. Company accepts an organization permalink, UUID or Crunchbase organization URL; investor and lead_investor accept company or person identifiers or Crunchbase URLs. Industry and location filters accept a name, permalink or UUID. announced_after and announced_before are inclusive dates in YYYY-MM-DD format. min_amount and max_amount are nonnegative USD thresholds; min_investors must be at least 1. funding_stage describes the company that raised capital, whereas round_type selects the financing event and can contain comma-separated types. equity_only is a string accepting true or false, with true excluding debt and grants. The documented default sort is announced. Both announced and amount return one page; rank supports deeper pagination. page defaults to 1 and accepts 1 through 100, but this range does not guarantee that 100 pages exist or override sort-specific limits. No direct probe is recorded for this operation. The supplied source example is partial and unverified: it shows count, current_page and an items array, but does not establish the complete response envelope. A complete example item includes id, uuid, name, link, round_type, rank, company, company_diversity_spotlights, company_funding_total, investors, investors_count, lead_investors, amount, target_amount, announced_on, closed_on, is_equity, pre_money_valuation, post_money_valuation and short_description. The company reference includes id, uuid, name, link, type and image; lead_investors contains identity references with id, uuid, name, link and type. The investors list is empty in that example, so its member schema is not established. Financial values, dates, is_equity and short_description are null in the example. Preserve unknowns rather than treating them as zero, and do not interpret search results or relationship lists as complete deal-flow coverage.

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve a named venture fund using the required fund query parameter. Supply the fund's Crunchbase permalink, UUID or Crunchbase fund URL. A fund is a distinct record from the investment firm that owns it; use the fund identifier rather than the managing firm's organization identifier. No direct probe is recorded for this operation. The unverified source example is a flat fund object with id, uuid, name, link, amount, announced_on, short_description, owner, investors, investors_count and press. owner is a firm reference containing id, uuid, name, link, type and image. The example investors array is empty, so it does not establish the schema of investor members or a complete investor roster. press is an array of references containing id, title, link, publisher, date, author, type and entities; each example entity reference has id, uuid, name, link and type. The example has null amount, announced_on, investors_count and short_description values, and a press author can also be null. Preserve missing values and empty lists without treating them as proof of zero fund size, no investors or no activity. Owner, investor and press references support research context; they do not establish a verified limited-partner register, capital commitments, deployable capital or current fundraising status.

Search Crunchbase Venture Funds

Full docs β†’

Search venture-fund records using optional owner, announcement-date and minimum-size filters. owner identifies the firm that raised a fund and accepts an organization permalink, UUID or Crunchbase organization URL. announced_after and announced_before are inclusive YYYY-MM-DD boundaries; min_amount is a nonnegative minimum fund size in USD. These filters describe fund records rather than companies' financing rounds. page defaults to 1 and accepts values from 1 through 100. sort accepts announced or amount and defaults to announced. Both documented sort modes return one page, so the accepted page-number range does not establish deeper pagination or a full export path. No direct probe is recorded for this operation. The unverified source example contains count, current_page, items, next, per_page, previous, sort and total_pages. Each example item has id, uuid, name, link, amount, announced_on, short_description, owner, investors and investors_count. owner contains id, uuid, name, link, type and image. Example investor lists are empty, so the member schema is not established. The example's amount, announced_on, short_description and investors_count values are null, as are next and previous. Use these fields as source-example guidance rather than a guaranteed live response schema. A matching fund record is a starting point for fund-formation research. Reported size is not evidence of dry powder, deployable capital, verified commitments or present fundraising status, and incomplete financial fields should remain unknown.

Retrieve the available research overview for one curated Crunchbase list, also called a hub. The required hub parameter accepts a hub permalink, UUID or full crunchbase.com/hub/ link; artificial-intelligence-companies is the documented default. The documented scope includes list statistics, trending companies, recent funding rounds, investors, people and events. No live probe is available for this endpoint. The supplied documentation example is truncated and has not been verified against a live response. Its readable portion contains id, image, description, companies_count and categories entries with id and name. It also contains acquisitions, acquisitions_count, events, events_count, funding_rounds_count and hub_type. The shown event objects have id, image, link, name, type and uuid. The investors section begins before the example cuts off, so its complete schema is not established. Exact response fields for trending companies, recent rounds and people cannot be confirmed from that example. Several documented counters, including acquisitions_count, events_count and funding_rounds_count, are null in the example. Treat unavailable statistics as unknown rather than zero. A curated list is a research starting point, not a verified census of a market or a guarantee of current membership.

Search Curated Company Lists

Details

Find named Crunchbase collections such as unicorn-startup or accelerator-related lists. All parameters are optional: query matches text contained in the list name, page selects a documented page from 1 through 100 (default 1), and sort accepts rank (the default) or name. The documented name sort returns one page, so do not assume it supports the same page traversal as rank ordering. No live probe is available for this endpoint. The unverified documentation example shows a paginated object with count, current_page, items, next, per_page, previous, sort and total_pages. Each example item contains id, uuid, name, link, image, rank, short_description, description, companies_count, people_count, events_count, hub_type, location and categories. In that example, description, hub_type and location are null, categories is empty, and previous is null on the first page. Category element fields and populated location structure are not established by the example. The counts describe each returned collection, not the companies or people themselves. Use an item identifier or hub link for a separate detail lookup when more context is needed. Named collections are discovery aids; their presence does not establish exhaustive membership, freshness or official accelerator-roster status.

Investments

Search Investments Into a Company

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve documented investor-to-company investment relationships for one company rather than a list of funding rounds alone. The required company accepts a Crunchbase organization permalink, UUID or full crunchbase.com/organization/ link; stripe is the supplied default. Optional funding_round narrows the search to one round of that company by round permalink, UUID or full crunchbase.com/funding_round/ link. Optional round_type restricts results to a documented funding category, and lead_only accepts the string true for lead investments only or false. Optional page ranges from 1 through 100, with a documented default of 1. No interaction or precedence between funding_round and round_type is established. No live probe is available for this endpoint. The unverified documentation example shows count, current_page, items, next, per_page, previous and total_pages. Each investment item contains id, uuid, name, company, investor, funding_round, round_type, is_lead_investor, amount_invested, round_amount, announced_on, investor_type, diversity_spotlights and partners. The documented company and investor objects have id, image, link, name, type and uuid; funding_round has id, link, name, type and uuid. These nested identifiers are not always populated in the example. In the supplied sample, amount_invested, round_amount, announced_on, is_lead_investor, investor_type and diversity_spotlights are null, and partners is empty. Treat unknown lead flags as unknown, not false. Do not infer per-investor contribution amounts, complete partner metadata or a complete investment history from the example. Preserve funding-round identity when analyzing repeat participation by the same investor.

Investors

Search Crunchbase Investors

Full docs β†’
Details

Search investor-name matches with optional industry, investment-stage, investor-type, location and minimum deal-count filters. All query parameters are optional. query matches text within an investor name; category and location accept a permalink, UUID or name. investor_stage and investor_type use documented tokens, while min_exits and min_investments specify minimum counts of at least 1. page defaults to 1 and supports 1 through 100. sort defaults to rank and also accepts investments, exits or name. The observed response is a paginated object with count, per_page, current_page, total_pages, next, previous, sort and an items array. Investor items expose id, uuid, name, type, link, image, rank and short_description; categories contain id and name. A populated location object contains city, region, country, continent, groups and ids. Other observed fields are investments_count, exits_count, ipo_exits_count, diversity_spotlight_investments_count, investor_type, investor_stage, founded_on and last_funding_type. Location, image, classification and investment statistics may be null; retain unknown values rather than treating them as zero. An observed check with query=sequoia and page=1 returned count=23, current_page=1, total_pages=2, sort=rank and 15 items. Its first match was Sequoia Capital in Menlo Park with investments_count=2495. investor_type and investor_stage were null in the checked results, and some other matches had no investment count. This check supports name discovery and pagination, not independent verification of every filter, current investing activity or the suitability of every match for fundraising.

IPOs

GET /api/project/crunchbase/ipo-details

Get Crunchbase IPO Details

Full docs β†’
Details

Retrieve a single IPO record using the required ipo query parameter. The documented input accepts a Crunchbase IPO permalink, UUID or Crunchbase IPO-page URL. The supplied permalink example and default is orion180-insurance-ipo--52e176ce. This lookup targets a listing-event record rather than a stock quote or a company-name search. No observed live check is available for this endpoint. The supplied, unverified response example is a single object with id, uuid, name, link, short_description and rank, plus stock_exchange, stock_symbol and went_public_on. It also includes stock_full_symbol, company, company_website, delisted_on, share_price, shares_outstanding and shares_sold; several of these values are null in that example, so their populated structures and availability are not verified. amount_raised and valuation are documented as objects with amount, amount_usd and currency. press is an array of articles with id, title, link, publisher, date, author, type and entities; article entities contain id, uuid, name, type and link. Use the record to enrich an IPO research brief with available listing identifiers, reported financial values and press context. Preserve missing amounts, dates and related-company values as unknown. The example does not establish current exchange status, real-time pricing, regulatory-filing accuracy or complete press coverage.

Search Crunchbase IPO Records

Full docs β†’
Details

Find IPO records using optional stock_exchange, exact stock_symbol and listing-date bounds. stock_exchange takes an exchange code such as nasdaq, nyse or lse; stock_symbol is an exact ticker such as ARM. went_public_after includes listings on or after the supplied YYYY-MM-DD date, and went_public_before includes listings on or before it. page defaults to 1 and supports 1 through 100. sort defaults to went_public and also accepts rank; no separate sort-direction input is documented. No observed live check is available for this endpoint. The supplied, unverified response example is a paginated object with count, per_page, current_page, total_pages, next, previous, sort and items. Each example item contains id, uuid, name, link, short_description, rank, stock_exchange, stock_symbol and went_public_on. It also includes amount_raised and valuation objects with amount, amount_usd and currency, together with company, company_website, stock_full_symbol, delisted_on, share_price, shares_outstanding and shares_sold. The latter company, full-symbol, delisting and share-related values are null in the example, so their populated forms are not verified. Use matching records to study catalog listing cohorts and select an IPO identifier for IPO Details. Preserve missing financial values and dates as unknown. The documented search is not evidence of complete exchange coverage, an upcoming IPO calendar or real-time market prices, and its default date ordering has no independently verified direction.

Search Crunchbase Locations

Full docs β†’
Details

Resolve a place name to candidate Crunchbase locations for geography selection. The required query parameter accepts a place name such as san francisco or london. The optional limit defaults to 15 and accepts integers from 1 to 25. The optional type restricts the lookup to city, region, country or group. Review the candidate name and location type rather than treating a display label as a unique geography. The documented response example contains items, query, total_count and type. Each item includes id and uuid identifiers, name, location_type, link and short_description, plus companies_count, country_code, region_code and groups. Both city and group candidates appear in that example. The last four item fields and the top-level type are null in the example, so populated company counts, geographic codes and group structures are not confirmed. No live probe was recorded for this operation; these fields describe an unverified documentation example, not an observed response guarantee. Confirm the identifier format accepted by a destination search before applying a returned location as a filter.

Details

Retrieve a page of the latest Crunchbase News articles covering startups, funding and venture capital. This operation has no required input: the optional page parameter defaults to 1 and accepts integers from 1 to 100. It has no keyword filter; use the separate news search operation when a topic is required. Treat the feed as this publication's available coverage, not all company news or a guaranteed real-time event stream. The documented response example contains items plus count, current_page, per_page, total_pages, next and previous pagination metadata. Each article includes a numeric id, title, link, excerpt, image, authors, categories, tags, published_at and modified_at. Authors, categories and tags are arrays of strings in the example; published_at and modified_at are timestamp strings. The example includes a next link and a null previous value. It provides article excerpts, not a documented full-article body field. No live probe was recorded for this operation, so the field list and pagination shape come from an unverified documentation example. Neither update latency nor complete historical coverage is established.

Full docs β†’

Find Crunchbase News articles using a keyword such as stripe. The query string is optional in the documented parameter contract, but the behavior when it is omitted or empty is not established; provide an explicit keyword for a reproducible search. The optional page parameter defaults to 1 and accepts integers from 1 to 100. No date-range, company-ID, author or category filter is documented for this operation, and advanced search syntax is not established. Keyword matches are publication search results, not verified company-specific events. The documented response example contains query, items, count, current_page, per_page, total_pages, next and previous. Each article includes a numeric id, title, link, excerpt, image, authors, categories, tags, published_at and modified_at. Authors, categories and tags are string arrays in the example, and the date fields are strings. The query field provides search context; next and previous are pagination-link fields in the example. No full-article body field is documented. No live probe was recorded for this operation: these fields describe an unverified documentation example, not observed runtime behavior. Search Crunchbase-tagged press by title, entity and publication date

Full docs β†’
Details

Search news articles tagged on Crunchbase using optional title text, entity and date filters. query matches text contained in the article title, not a documented full-text body search. entity restricts articles to a company or person identified by a permalink, UUID or Crunchbase URL. posted_after and posted_before accept YYYY-MM-DD dates and are inclusive publication-date bounds. page defaults to 1 and accepts integers from 1 through 100. No sort parameter or ordering guarantee is documented for this search. An unverified source response example documents count, current_page, per_page, total_pages, next, previous and an items array. The pagination references include a null previous value on the example first page. Each example article has id, title, posted_on, publisher, author, link, thumbnail and entities. Authors and thumbnails can be null; the supplied article links are null and all example entity lists are empty, so the example does not establish the shape of an entity entry. No full article text field is documented by this example. No endpoint-specific live probe response was supplied for this operation; these fields are source-example evidence, not verified live results. This is a search of tagged press references, distinct from a search of the separate Crunchbase News publication. The optional role filter accepts sponsor, speaker, exhibitor, contestant or organizer. The optional page parameter defaults to 1 and supports values from 1 to 100. No endpoint-specific live response is available in the supplied evidence. An unverified documentation example contains count, current_page, per_page, total_pages, next and previous as pagination fields, with next and previous null in the example. The person object contains id and uuid. The items array contains participation records with id, role, event, participant, event_location, event_starts_on and short_description. The event object contains id, link, name, type and uuid; participant contains id, image, link, name, type and uuid. event_starts_on is a string in the example, while event_location and short_description are null. Research the documented investment history of an angel investor or investment partner. Supply person as a Crunchbase person permalink, UUID or person-profile URL. The optional integer page parameter defaults to 1 and supports values from 1 to 100. The endpoint is documented to cover personal investments, partner-attributed deals and exits, with 10 investment results per page. No endpoint-specific live response is available in the supplied evidence. The unverified documentation example is truncated, so it cannot establish the complete response schema. Its readable portion includes count, current_page, founded_companies_count, investments_count and investor_rank. An exits array contains organization references with id, image, link, name, short_description, type and uuid. The items array contains investment records with id, name, company and funding_round references. Company references contain id, image, link, name, type and uuid; funding_round references contain id, link, name, type and uuid. The readable investment records also contain amount_invested, announced_on, diversity_spotlights, investor, is_lead_investor, round_amount and round_type as null, plus a partners array that is empty in the readable portion. The example does not verify a separate partner-deals field or the remaining pagination fields. Keep personal investments distinct from partner-attributed deals when interpreting available records. The optional kind parameter accepts current, past, board or all and defaults to all. No page parameter or education-specific kind value is documented for this operation. No endpoint-specific live response is available in the supplied evidence. An unverified documentation example contains person, kind, counts, current_jobs, past_jobs, board_and_advisor_roles and education. The person object contains id, image, link, name, type and uuid. The counts object contains current, current_advisor, past and past_advisor; past and past_advisor are null in the example, while past_jobs is an empty array. Populated current_jobs and board_and_advisor_roles records contain id, title and a company reference with id, image, link, name, type and uuid. They also include started_on, ended_on, started_on_precision, ended_on_precision, featured_order, is_current, job_type and person. The example contains string start dates and precision values for current jobs, but many other role fields, including is_current and job_type, are null. Do not assume that every role has dates or an explicit status. Education records in the example contain id, subject, school, degree, started_on, completed_on and is_completed. Discover founders, executives and investors using optional filters. query matches text in a person's name, bio matches biography text, title matches job-title text, and company restricts results to the current company identified by permalink, UUID or Crunchbase organization URL. location accepts a location permalink, UUID or name. born_after and born_before are inclusive YYYY-MM-DD birth-date bounds, while gender uses the documented categories. These optional demographic filters should not be used for discriminatory employment, credit or eligibility screening. is_investor accepts the strings true or false, and investor_type selects a documented investor category. min_exits, min_founded, min_investments and min_partner_investments are minimum counts of at least 1. max_rank is a rank cutoff of at least 1, where rank 1 is most prominent. sort defaults to rank and also accepts investments, partner_investments, exits and name. The documented name sort returns only one page. Otherwise page defaults to 1 and accepts 1 through 100; that input range is not a promise of available result volume. The supplied source response example is truncated. Its visible portion shows count, current_page and an items array containing complete person records. Visible record fields include id, uuid, name, link, image, title, short_description, rank and is_investor. company contains id, uuid, name, type, image and link; location contains city, region, country, continent, groups and ids. Activity fields include investments_count, partner_investments_count, exits_count, ipo_exits_count and diversity_spotlight_investments_count. aliases, investor_stage and investor_type also appear. Several activity fields and the aliases, investor_stage and investor_type fields are null in visible records; null is not zero. The truncated example does not establish a complete pagination envelope or every possible nested value shape. No endpoint-specific live probe response was supplied, so these response fields are source-example evidence rather than verified live results. Search schools and universities

Details

Search Crunchbase school and university records by institution name, location and founding date. All four query parameters are optional. Use query for text contained in the school name; location accepts a location name, permalink or UUID, with identifiers available through Search Locations. The founded_after filter is inclusive: supply YYYY-MM-DD to request institutions founded on or after that date. The page parameter defaults to 1 and supports values from 1 through 100. No live response was captured for this operation. The following response layout comes from an unverified documented 200 response example, not an observed response contract. Its top-level fields are count (reported result count), current_page (page number), per_page (page size), total_pages (page count), next and previous (pagination navigation fields), and items (school records). Each example record contains id and uuid identifiers, name, link, image, rank, short_description, founded_on, categories and location. Categories contain id and name. Company discovery and connected research capabilities

Discover companies and connect company, funding and investment records for CRM enrichment, startup sourcing and market research. Use domain matches as candidates to review, then carry the confirmed company ID into focused research requests.

  • Company discovery: search by name, industry, location, funding stage and other supported filters
  • Domain lookup and company profiles: resolve website domains to candidate organizations and retrieve company details
  • Funding and investor research: explore company funding rounds, investors, investment relationships and venture funds
  • Corporate transactions: search acquisitions and IPOs, then inspect individual records
  • Company context: retrieve related people, offices, subsidiaries, similar companies, technology and growth signals
  • People and events: search public professional records and explore jobs, investments, event appearances and participants
  • News and reference data: find company coverage, press articles, Crunchbase news, industries, locations, lists and schools

Responses may contain multiple domain matches, empty searches or missing financial fields. Review entity identity before merging records; counts can exceed the items returned on a page, and investor matches do not establish current investment activity.
