Search Crunchbase-tagged press by title, entity and publication date

View all Crunchbase Company & Investment Data endpoints →

Search news articles tagged on Crunchbase using optional title text, entity and date filters. query matches text contained in the article title, not a documented full-text body search. entity restricts articles to a company or person identified by a permalink, UUID or Crunchbase URL. posted_after and posted_before accept YYYY-MM-DD dates and are inclusive publication-date bounds. page defaults to 1 and accepts integers from 1 through 100. No sort parameter or ordering guarantee is documented for this search. An unverified source response example documents count, current_page, per_page, total_pages, next, previous and an items array. The pagination references include a null previous value on the example first page. Each example article has id, title, posted_on, publisher, author, link, thumbnail and entities. Authors and thumbnails can be null; the supplied article links are null and all example entity lists are empty, so the example does not establish the shape of an entity entry. No full article text field is documented by this example. No endpoint-specific live probe response was supplied for this operation; these fields are source-example evidence, not verified live results. This is a search of tagged press references, distinct from a search of the separate Crunchbase News publication. Preserve publisher and date attribution, verify article relevance, and do not assume exhaustive media coverage or real-time indexing.

Use Cases

Frequently asked questions

What does the press query search?

query matches text the article title must contain, such as acquisition. Full-text article body search, semantic matching and advanced query syntax are not documented for this endpoint.

Can entity identify either a company or a person?

Yes. entity accepts a Crunchbase permalink, UUID or URL for a company or person and limits the search to articles about that entity. It is optional; confirm the intended entity before interpreting an article as evidence.

Are the publication-date boundaries inclusive?

Yes. posted_after means published on or after its YYYY-MM-DD date, and posted_before means published on or before its YYYY-MM-DD date. Both inputs are optional and can define the bounds of a research window.

Is this the same as searching the Crunchbase News publication?

No. This endpoint searches articles tagged on Crunchbase. The separate Crunchbase News publication is a different search scope; do not assume the two collections have identical coverage.

Are full article text and working links guaranteed?

No. The unverified source example documents article reference metadata, not a full-text body. Its link fields are null, and author and thumbnail values can also be null. No live response was supplied to verify field availability.

How are pages and result ordering handled?

page defaults to 1 and is documented to accept 1 through 100. The source example shows count, current_page, per_page, total_pages, next and previous. No sorting input or ordering guarantee is documented, and the allowed page range does not guarantee that many result pages.
