Search Curated Company Lists
View all Crunchbase Company & Investment Data endpoints →Find named Crunchbase collections such as unicorn-startup or accelerator-related lists. All parameters are optional: query matches text contained in the list name, page selects a documented page from 1 through 100 (default 1), and sort accepts rank (the default) or name. The documented name sort returns one page, so do not assume it supports the same page traversal as rank ordering. No live probe is available for this endpoint. The unverified documentation example shows a paginated object with count, current_page, items, next, per_page, previous, sort and total_pages. Each example item contains id, uuid, name, link, image, rank, short_description, description, companies_count, people_count, events_count, hub_type, location and categories. In that example, description, hub_type and location are null, categories is empty, and previous is null on the first page. Category element fields and populated location structure are not established by the example. The counts describe each returned collection, not the companies or people themselves. Use an item identifier or hub link for a separate detail lookup when more context is needed. Named collections are discovery aids; their presence does not establish exhaustive membership, freshness or official accelerator-roster status.

Use Cases
- Offer a thematic-list picker that finds unicorn collections from name text instead of maintaining hard-coded hub identifiers.
- Compare reported company and people counts across accelerator-related collections before choosing a research focus.
- Create an alphabetically ordered collection selector using sort=name while respecting its documented one-page behavior.
- Page through rank-ordered named lists to build a research shortlist, then explicitly open details for selected collections without claiming an exhaustive accelerator roster.
Frequently asked questions
Does query search company names or list names?
It searches for text contained in the curated list name, such as unicorn. It is not documented as a company-name search or as a way to return every member of a list.
How do rank and name sorting differ?
The documented default is rank. The alternative name order is documented to return one page, so do not assume that increasing page will traverse an alphabetical result set.
What page values can I request?
The documented range is 1 through 100 and the default is 1. The documentation example includes current_page, total_pages, next and previous, but pagination behavior has not been confirmed by a live probe.
Do companies_count and people_count include full member profiles?
No. They are documented counts on a list-search item. The example items also include identity and summary fields; use a selected hub identifier or link with list details to request more context separately.
Can I rely on every list metadata field being populated?
No. In the unverified documentation example, description, hub_type and location are null and categories is empty. No guarantee of complete, current or official membership is established.
