List a company or person's event appearances by role

View all Crunchbase Company & Investment Data endpoints →

Retrieve event appearance records for one company or person. The required entity parameter accepts a Crunchbase permalink, UUID, organization profile URL or person profile URL. The optional page parameter defaults to 1 and supports pages 1 through 100. The optional role parameter restricts results to sponsor, speaker, exhibitor, contestant or organizer; omit it when no role restriction is needed. The supplied, unverified response example contains entity with id, type and uuid; a top-level role value; an items array; and count, current_page, per_page, total_pages, next and previous pagination fields. Each appearance item contains id, role, short_description, event_starts_on, event_location, event and participant. The event reference contains id, name, type, uuid and link. The participant reference contains id, name, type, uuid, link and image. The example includes null event_location, role-filter and previous-page values. These source-example fields have not been confirmed by a live probe for this operation. Do not assume that location, participant details or any other field will be complete for every record. Use the results as reported participation records, not proof of actual attendance, a current schedule or a complete conference history. An overlapping event listing for two entities does not establish that they met or have a personal or commercial relationship.

API Features

Company and person appearance histories Select either an organization or a person through one required entity reference, using the documented permalink, UUID or matching profile URL formats.
Five participation role filters Narrow the appearance list to sponsor, speaker, exhibitor, contestant or organizer with the optional role input.
Paired event and participant references The source example links each appearance to event and participant identity objects, helping keep the listed entity distinct from the conference record.
Paged appearance review with start-date context Request pages 1 through 100 and review the documented event_starts_on, event_location and short_description fields where populated; the example includes missing location data.

Use Cases

Frequently asked questions

Can the entity parameter identify both companies and people?

Yes. Use a Crunchbase permalink such as stripe for a company or sam-altman for a person, a UUID, or a corresponding organization or person profile URL. The entity parameter is required and is not documented as a free-text name search.

Which role filters are supported?

The documented values are sponsor, speaker, exhibitor, contestant and organizer. Supply one value to restrict the list to that role, or omit role when you do not need a role-specific restriction.

How can I retrieve more appearance records?

Set page to a value from 1 through 100; it defaults to 1 when omitted. The source example includes count, current_page, per_page, total_pages, next and previous. A fixed page size is not established by the supplied parameter facts, and the response has not been live-verified.

What information is documented for an appearance?

The unverified source example includes an appearance id, role, short_description, event_starts_on, event_location and separate event and participant references. Location is null in the example, so applications should handle missing details rather than assume every listing has a venue or complete participant data.

Does a shared event prove that two entities met?

No. An appearance listing is a reported participation record. Shared events can guide further partnership research, but they do not prove actual attendance, a meeting, a personal relationship or a commercial connection.
