Check an Account's Broadcast Status
View all X (Twitter) Public Data API endpoints →Send required rest_id as the string numeric X account ID to check available current broadcast status. Resolve a handle to its account ID with user-info if needed; this endpoint does not accept screenname. No live sample established status keys, broadcast identifiers, no-broadcast behavior or update latency. Validate the result before displaying an indicator, debounce scheduled checks and treat observed status changes as polling evidence rather than push delivery. This read does not provide a video stream or start a broadcast.

Use Cases
- Show a validated broadcast-state indicator for a known public host after resolving its account ID.
- Notify an event coordinator about observed status changes using debounced polling.
- Record dated live-status observations for an institutional event research log without continuous-coverage claims.
- Refresh a public host directory's broadcast indicator while handling unverified or unavailable states separately.
Frequently asked questions
Can I check broadcast status using a username?
user-live requires rest_id and does not declare screenname. Resolve the public handle through user-info first, preserve its numeric account ID as a string and validate the returned broadcast-state fields before rendering an indicator.
Does broadcast status provide a video stream or push updates?
No. Status keys, no-broadcast behavior and latency remain unverified. Use debounced deliberate polling for observed state changes; this read neither starts a broadcast nor delivers video or a push subscription.
