Get a Football Match Venue
View all Football Data API endpoints →Request location information for one football event as a candidate source for a match-specific venue card. Requires eventid. The venue response has not been verified; stadium names, addresses and coordinates must be confirmed from the actual payload. A club's usual stadium is not proof of a particular event's location, and missing coordinates should not be replaced with guessed positions.

Use Cases
- Create a venue fact card for a selected fixture after validating location fields.
- Flag possible neutral or alternate stadiums by comparing match and club venue records.
- Prepare a stadium-based editorial match index using only confirmed event locations.
- Test a match page's location fallback when an event supplies a name but no coordinates.
Frequently asked questions
Does venue lookup use a team ID or event ID?
Use eventid. A fixture may take place somewhere other than the club's usual home ground.
Are geographic coordinates guaranteed?
No demonstrated venue response establishes names, addresses or coordinates. Coordinates in a team-profile sample do not prove this operation returns them.
Can I fill missing coordinates with the usual home stadium?
Do not guess. Neutral or alternate venues are possible; preserve missing values instead of generating an inaccurate map or distance.
