Look Up an Idealo Product URL
View all Idealo Product Search & Merchant Offers API endpoints →Submit a known Idealo product link rather than a keyword or barcode. Enter a JSON object as text in body with country and exactly one URL string in values; direct gateway clients provide that text as the string value of body. country accepts de or at, and the product URL must belong to the same country. The placeholder uses the German listing URL observed in keyword results, not an invented product link. Do not send category pages, arbitrary shop URLs or a list of links. The documented creation contract returns a job_id for retrieval through get-job. The route is intended to retrieve product and merchant-offer data for the addressed listing, but no successful live URL-lookup response was supplied. Its acceptance behavior and exact result fields therefore remain unverified; the detailed fields observed on ID and barcode jobs must not be presented as a verified response from this route. Test this particular route with a current, country-matched product link before relying on it. Keep the submitted link with the eventual per-result status and validate any returned identity.

Use Cases
- Merchandiser link import: validate a curated spreadsheet's product URLs and countries before creating individual lookup jobs.
- Paste-a-product-link workflow: let a shopper nominate a known Idealo listing without guessing a keyword match.
- Editorial deal-link review: preserve the submitted product link with the collected outcome when checking a curated recommendation.
- URL-route pilot: run a route-specific smoke test with an approved product link before enabling URL-based monitoring in an application.
Frequently asked questions
Can I submit any online shop or category URL?
No. The documented input is one Idealo product URL for the same country passed in country. Arbitrary merchant links and category pages are not the declared contract. The request schemas expose de and at only.
Has URL lookup been live-verified?
No. The successful observations covered keyword, listing-ID and barcode workflows, not this route. A known link in the placeholder is evidence that the listing existed in search results, not proof that URL lookup accepted it or returned a particular offer structure.
When is a product URL preferable to a search term?
Use it when the user already selected a specific listing or a reviewed product-link spreadsheet is your starting point. It avoids ambiguous keyword selection, but you still need a route-specific test and must inspect the eventual job outcome.
Can I import several product links in one request?
No. values must contain exactly one URL string. Validate and schedule separate jobs for separate links, keeping each submitted URL, country and returned job ID together.
