Get the Home Team Lineup

View all Football Data API endpoints →

Request the home-side lineup for an event to evaluate available player records independently of the away side. Requires eventid. No home-lineup payload has been verified, so formations, starters, substitutes and player fields are not guaranteed. Inspect returned roles and identifiers before rendering a lineup or joining it to a roster. Missing lineup data must not be presented as a team having no players.

API Features

Home-side event selector The event ID targets the lineup request for the designated home team.
Independent home-lineup availability Home-side data should be checked separately from the visiting lineup.
Role-aware home rendering Display starters or substitutes only if the response establishes those roles.

Use Cases

Frequently asked questions

Does the home lineup require a team ID?

Only eventid is required; the selected fixture determines the home side. Confirm the event through search or fixtures first.

Are starters and substitutes always distinguished?

The response has not been demonstrated. Formations, starting roles and substitute fields must be confirmed from actual data.

Does an empty home lineup mean no players took part?

No. Distinguish unavailable coverage from an actual empty returned list. Missing data is not proof of no participants, and publication timing is not established.
