List Host-Language Filter IDs for Property Search

View all Airbnb Search, Prices & Reviews endpoints →

Provide a destination query and optional language_code to request host-language choices. The documented response contains status, message and id/title pairs including English, French, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified) and other languages. Pass the returned IDs as comma-separated values in the query-family host_language input. These IDs describe a host-language search preference; language_code localizes the catalog, and locale localizes the property response. They are not interchangeable language codes or a guarantee of a particular host's fluency. This catalog was not live-verified.

API Features

Host-language preference catalog The documented IDs target a host communication-language filter rather than interface translation.
Localized language-choice titles language_code controls the catalog labels while returned IDs remain the values used for filtering.
Multiple host-language selections The query-family host_language input supports comma-separated IDs.
Host language distinct from locale Changing the response locale should not silently change the desired host communication language.

Frequently asked questions

Can I put a language code such as en-US in host_language?

This filter expects the returned catalog IDs, not locale strings. Choose id values from this response and send a comma-separated host_language value for the query-family property search.

Does language_code choose the host's language?

No. language_code localizes the catalog labels. The selected returned IDs control the host_language preference; response locale is another separate setting, and no fluency guarantee is established.
